GAFA Issues Urgent Warning: Beware of Top 50+ Suspicious Trading Platforms

GAFA
June 8, 2024

Over the past few weeks, GAFA has received a large number of consumer complaints about fraudulent trading platforms in Belgium. These platforms pretend to offer legitimate investment opportunities but use deceptive tactics to attract unsuspecting victims.

Tricky advertising
Fraudulent platforms often use misleading ads on social media and video platforms to attract people''''s attention. These ads may feature well-known figures and promise to make quick money through trading. Some platforms also use mobile applications to attract people.

Aggressive tactics and false claims
Once people use these platforms, the scammers become very aggressive. They may claim to be authorized by fake financial institutions to appear trustworthy. In some cases, they even try to take control of the victim''''s computer and transfer funds without permission. Victims are often forced to invest more money and promised high returns, but in the end they lose everything.

Warning signs and affiliate programs
FSMA has noticed some warning signs of these fraudulent platforms. For example, they may offer "affiliate programs" similar to pyramid schemes. Also, be careful if they contact you through WhatsApp, Telegram, dating apps or fake social media accounts.

Advice for investors
To avoid falling for investment scams, GAFA recommends the following:

Check company details: Verify the company''''s identity, including its name and location. If you can''''t find clear information, proceed with caution.

Look for authorization: Make sure the company is authorized by the regulator. Be wary of companies pretending to be a certain company.

Stay vigilant: If you find anything suspicious, don''''t pay. Please contact GAFA for help and report suspicious activity.

Report fraud: If you are scammed, report it to your local government or police.

Protect yourself: If the scammer has access to your computer, contact your bank and consider changing your password to prevent further damage.

No matter you are, if you are scammed, please contact us immediately. GAFA Anti-Fraud Organization will conduct an in-depth analysis based on your case. We will quickly notify a professional team of lawyers to contact you and assist you in successfully recovering the defrauded funds. The Global Anti-Fraud Alliance can help you recover the losses of online fraud. Please be careful not to believe the traps set by scammers. Don''''t believe in plans that promise investment, love relationships or friendships that will make you money without losing money. These may be sweet words from fraud groups.
